“Revival is no more a miracle than a crop of wheat. Revival comes from Heaven when heroic souls enter the conflict determined to win or die—or if need be, to win and die.”
– Charles Finney
Among other things, revival is a product of the Word of God taking root in a person’s life. We know, according to Romans 10:17, that faith springs up in our hearts as we hear it and meditate on it. In Joshua 1:8, the Lord instructs Joshua to meditate on the Word so that he might do the Word he meditates on. James tells us that it is the doer of the Word who is blessed, not the hearer only (see James 1:25).
As we patiently await the manifestation of the promised Word, we watch for the sprouting of a seed. Jesus taught us that His Word is a seed that produces thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold when properly stewarded in the hearts and lives of His followers.
